A Rapid Intervention Team is a specialized team of firefighters who operate at a fire scene with only one purpose... TO SAVE FELLOW FIREFIGHTERS. A RIT is a specialized field and operating a RIT is not for every fire organization, using one is. Just like every fire organization cannot perform vehicle rescue, river rescue, confined space rescue, and other specialized rescues. ABBETRIT was formed not only for those that provide this valuable service but also for those who use these services. This organization will show you what you should expect from your RIT and will let you know what questions to ask when picking a RIT. We are continuously trying new techniques and methods and developing new procedures from real life experiences.
